Microneedling therapy, also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) and Percutaneous (through the skin) Collagen Induction (PCI), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of the MD Needle Pen.

The mechanical action of the pen allows the needles to puncture the skin and create a controlled “injury” at a specific depth.

Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the bodies natural healing process to fill these micro wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, new capillaries are formed for improved blood supply.

With microneedling, the top layer of the skin is parted without being damaged—leaving the skin intact.  Think of irrigating your lawn, but on your face!

It does not “burn” your skin like peels or more invasive lasers.

The needle penetration depth can be adjusted from 0.25mm to 2.50mm into the skin depending on the area of the body and the skin condition being treated. Using skin needling consistently will trigger the bodies repair process until the desired level of skin rejuvenation is achieved.

Microneedling results improvement in skin tone and texture, firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

What to Expect

First we will start out by applying a topical numbing agent to make the procedure less uncomfortable.  We will then begin the Acupuncture Treatment that is always included to treat the underlying constitutional weaknesses that go along with the conditions you want to treat on your skin.  After the numbing agent has set in, we will begin the Microneedling Treatment in combination with Hyaluronic Acid, Vegan Stem Cells, and Chinese Herbal Serums.  This takes about 20 minutes.  After that you’ll be soothed with an aloe mask and optional light therapy to enhance your skin’s healing response.

You may experience some redness of the skin for up to 24 hours post treatment.  Continue to apply your leftover serum that was used during the treatment twice per day.  The micro-channels created by the needles allow for deeper penetration of topical serums for more effective results. This procedure can increase the skins ability to utilize the nutrients by up to 3,000%.
